City Park is located just East of Downtown. This is a nice run for city residents as well as travellers seeking a quick jog while driving through the Mile High City on Interstate 70. The park is home to the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Science and History, and the city golf course.

For the entire 3.5 mile loop run, you must make the loop around the Golf Course on the North of the Park as well (not 23rd but rather 26th Ave.) The streets bordering this loop are 26th to the North, York on the West, 17th to the South, and Colorado Blvd. on the East. On the East and North side the path is a dirt path trail. On the West and South sides there is a sidewalk to follow. This is an enjoyable loop, shaded by many old trees. Listen to the sqawk of the animals as you pass the Zoo, or watch the golfers as you circle the North side. Parking is free, just look for a spot either in the park or in the parking lot on 23rd. If using restrooms, keep an eye out for homeless folk who to sleep there in the mornings.

From I-70 East or West, take the Colorado Blvd. exit and drive South to 23rd Ave. Take a right onto 23rd and look for parking lot on your left, or drive until you are almost at York St. and enter park. Although many of the interior park roads are closed, you can usually park along open roads (watch for signs to indicate any restrictions) or in parking lots such as at the tennis courts.

From the South or center of Denver, take Colorado or York Street North and watch for the park.

There is no fee to enter the park, and you may enter on the North and West sides.
