This is a fantastic, gently uphill run that takes you out of the city and into the foothills, alongside a creek the entire way. Run the road out of the parking lot, shaded by trees, and after .5 mile you'll be at the City Creek Canyon gate. From here, run 3.2 miles to the water treatment plant. Dogs are welcome on leash only to this point. Continue on another 2.8 miles to Rotary Park. The total elevation gain is about 1600ft. Enjoy the nice, long downhill on the way back down for a total run of about 13 miles!
You can run either on the paved path, or find the singletrack trail down closer to the creek.
Enjoy!
Take State Street all the way to the Capital building. Stay to the right, and look for the parking lot. Head up the road out of the parking lot until you find the City Creek Canyon Gate.
