A nice hill climb. You have multiple places to pick up this trail. The best place to start is at the parasailing landing site on US 6 just west of the Colorado School of Mines Campus. Start on the single track which climbs behind the houses on Mt. Zion. Continue until you cross Lookout Road. Keep running up the singletrack, but keep in mind there are some really rocky portions that might require some hiking for about 10 feet. Continue climbing until you hit the Windy Saddle trail. From here you can keep going or turn around. If you keep going, you'll eventually pickup the Beaver Brook Trail (a Colorado Mountain Club trail).

It's a beautiful run, and has some nice scenery. As always, beware of mountain lions and bears. There are steep dropoffs in some areas, and beware of mountain bikers.

To go from US 6 - park at the parasailing landing zone (a dirt parking lot) about 0.25 miles south of the intersection of US 6, CO 93, and CO 58. Park, and go from there. For a shorter run, continue up US 6, and at the next light (US 6 and 19th street), make a right on Lookout Road. Drive and park near the arches. Run about .5 miles up and you'll catch the trail on your left. (this makes the out and back ~ 3 miles).
