Start your Labor Day weekend off with a half marathon run that combines the quiet of forest trails and roads with the challenge of a cross country run. Located at the Dale Fountain Cross Country Course at banat, the course will take you through quiet evergreen stands and hardwood forest, across the Menominee river, over hills and valleys, and down Upper Peninsula forest roads. Water stops are every two miles with water and fruit at the end of the race. 5 year age brackets with ribbons for 4th and 5th places as well as medals for the first three runners in each age group. Trophies for male and female overall winners.
Take highway US 41, 8 miles north of Stephenson to the Chalk Hills road, (also labaled number 29 road). Coming from the north take highway US 41, 12 miles south of the village of Powers to Chalk Hills road. Take Chalk Hills road 7.3 miles west to Koller Lane. Take Koller lane south to the Dale Fountain Cross Country course. Road signs will also point the way.
