This is one of the most popular areas at Carter Lake for bouldering and with good reason. There are climbs for all abilities here. The problems also tend to get more sun in the winter and have more options that don't include ankle-breaking consequences when bailing. Unlike Biglandia, the area is best described as a boulder strewn hillside instead of the mini flatiron nature of Biglandia.

Popular Climbs

  • Skunk Rub (V4) at Skunk Rub Boulder
  • Daily Chuck Dose (V8) at Skunk Rub Boulder
  • West Face (V3) at Extension Boulder
  • Standard Route (V3) at Scenic Rock
  • Sloper Chief (V5) at Monster Boulder
  • Kahuna Roof (V5) at Kahuna Boulder

Directions

Take CR31 to Carter Lake and go to the parking area before the dam on the right.
