The Carleton College Arboretum is a moderately hilly trail run consisting of many miles of trails that interconnect allowing you to run continuously for from 1-15 miles (or more!) The trails are not marked for distance so you will need to know your pace and have a watch (or have GPS) to determine your mileage. Trails are well maintained. You may park at Carleton College and walk to one of many entrances. Downtown Northfield, MN is only a half mile away for food and drink once you are done!

From I-35 go east on Highway 19 (Northfield exit, mile marker 69). Follow Highway 19 into Northfield. You will turn left at first stop light, right at the second stop light and then left at the stop sign once you cross the Cannon River. Proceed for aprroximately one-half mile (passing the Carleton track/football stadium) and then park in the parking lot on your left. This is the main entrance to the Carleton Arboretum.
