This trail is a great workout and definitely something different. There are some elevation changes, though for this area it's not a hilly run. The trail follows Bull Creek and covers a variety of terrain. Most of the trail is dirt (single track) with alot of rocks. There are also several places where the trail is completely rocks. Often there is a lot of muddy areas and there are many creek crossings. This is a great place to run if you don't mind getting wet. There are even a few natural pools along the way to stop and swim in. Dogs are allowed and there is even a dog park at the southern end of the trail. This is also a wonderful trail if you want to convene with nature and the beauty therein while being minutes from a major highway (Capitol Of Tx Hwy, 360).
From 183 and 360, go west on hwy 360. Pass the arboretum and Great Hills Trl. Go through the light that is Spicewood Springs to your left and Forsythia to your right. Take a right at the next traffic light, which will be Spicewood Springs also. Then take an immediate right onto Old Spicewood Springs and follow it under 360. You can park in the first parking area on your left (which has an outhouse) and walk a little (less than 1/8 of a mi) on the road to the trail head or continue past this first parking area and park at the second smaller one which is directly across from the trailhead.
