Start at the Boulder Public Library and take the paved Boulder Creek Path west paralleling the Boulder Creek. This path can become very crowded, especially during the weekends. So, if you have a dog, remember to bring a leash. Additionally, if you have a dog, remember to stop along the way and let them play in the creek. There are several great swimming holes along the way. They'll love you for it.

At .8 miles you will come to Eben G. Fine Park. You can optionally started here if you want to knock off 1.6 miles of the run's distance. At Eben G. Fine, you could also add a few miles to your run. Turning north and under Canyon Blvd. you could run the Red Rocks Trail, or you could turn south crossing Arapahoe Ave. and run the View Point Trail. Either of these options will add significant elevation gain to the run. Otherwise continue running west on the Boulder Creek Path.

After approximately another mile the Boulder Creek Path will turn to gravel and things will get much quieter. The sound of the creek starts to drown out the noise of the traffic driving up Boulder Canyon. Continue running west until the trail ends. There is usually a port-a-jon here just in case nature calls. Now turn around and run back to the library.

The Boulder Public Library can be found one block west of the Broadway (Hwy. 93) and Arapahoe Road intersection. Park on the north side of the library parking lot near the creek. I believe this is 2 hour parking ... and it is free.
