Beautiful, tropicial, within lush rain forest. First half of race run over wooden bridges with bamboo and waterfalls as a backdrop.
After 9 miles the race follows along the Pacific Ocean, hugging the coastline of Hilo Bayfront.
Well stocked aid stations, with awards in the top 3 of 5 year age divisions.
Limit of 300 people in the full marathon, and another 200 people in the 10.8 mile run.
Hilo is located on the island of Hawaii and has a major airport. Fly into either Honolulu or Kona and get a comuter flight to Hilo.
Runners will be bused to the start of the race on race morning. Certified course and a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
