The race consists of three basic loops, each one slightly different, however all three go through a beautiful park (200 East Park). The bulk of the race goes on the road, with the part of the loops consisting of grassy park ground. This is the 2nd Annual Big Boca 5k. Last year the race was won with a time of 18:36. Competition should increase as the race gains more publicity. The race results will be in the Vidette Times following the race.
There will also be a 2-mile walk, which will be only two loops.
The race starts at the corner of Boca Lago Drive and McCord Road in Valparaiso, IN.
FROM SR-49 (Southbound) [Portage, Chesterton, Pines Township]:
Turn right (west) onto Vale Park Road in Valparaiso. Continue to the first stop sign. Turn left at stop sign (Silhavy Road). Continue on Silhavy until you reach McCord Road (on right). Turn right onto McCord and continue to 200 East Park. Park will be on right.
FROM SR-49 (Northbound) [Kouts, Morgan Township]:
Turn left (west) onto Vale Park Road in Valparaiso. Continue to the first stop sign. Turn left at stop sign (Silhavy Road). Continue on Silhavy until you reach McCord Road (on right). Turn right onto McCord and continue to 200 East Park. Park will be on right.
