The Autumn Color Runs are held each year in and around the historic, friendly, and picturesque town of Buena Vista, Colorado, nestled in the upper Arkansas River valley in the shadow of the Collegiate Peaks.
These courses generally result in a number of personal best (see the Finish Line Page). The race is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and is authorized under special use permit with the USDA Forest Service.
The half marathon starts west of town near Cottonwood Lake and winds it's way into town on mostly dirt roads. There is about 4 miles of pavement and the course drops about 2,500 feet to the 8,000 foot altitude of the town of Buena Vista. There is also a 10K race and a 5K race.
This event has become famous as being well staffed and the provider of the finest race food table in the state. We bus you to the start of these events. A virtual cornucopia of food and refreshments will await the participants at the finish.
There is something for everyone, so come on and join us! Run the event of your choice and then scarf some homemade muffins, have a drink and rub elbows with a great bunch of sweaty runners. Hang out and look cool while you wait for your ribbon.
Fees include race participation, colorful collectable longsleeved micro fiber shirt, aid stations, world class post race refreshments, door prizes, and awards. All proceeds benefit local charities!
Gather for race at park on NW corner of Hwy 24 and CR 306 (Main Street) in Buena Vista. Buses leave for start at 8:15am.
