The 23rd annual fall classic race is a day for all ages! Last fall our runners spanned ages from 5 to 76! We start with the 2 mile run/walk along beautiful Ottertail Lake with runners of all ages and abilities- walkers welcome! This race is an out and back race along the lake. A great chance to enjoy the fall beauty. The 2 mile race awards medals for the top 3 men & women in each age group.
Then there is the feature of the day- the 10k. This race is tac certified, relatively easy. Mostly paved (less than 1/2 mile unpaved) course. The race starts and finishes near lake country gardens and offers views of four surrounding lakes and crosses the ottertail river. Water is offered along the way. Medals are awarded to the top 3 men & women in each age division.
We also offer a kids 1K run for those athletes under 10 years of age that don't feel up to doing the 2 Mile. We will have ribbons for everyone and medals for the first three boys and girls. All the kids get a snack after their race. It's a great opportunity to introduce the younger crowd to a lifetime of fitness and health. After the race, we will feast on "almost famous Daves" famous chili. Wonderful after a run in the fresh fall air. Dinner and awards will be held in the big greenhouse at lake country gardens.
Not a runner/walker? Thats ok! We would love to have you join us for dinner. This is truly a day for families and longtime friends to enjoy fall at the lake. Many resorts in the area have cabins available for race weekend. Contact us for a list.
