There is premier trophy walleye fishing at Cherry Creek. Best fishing occurs in mid-May to early June with jigs, bait and plugs along the dam and island. Anglers can also find crappies, wipers and catchable stocked trout. A State Parks Pass is required.

Great fishing lures anglers to Cherry Creek State Park. State record walleye have been caught at the reservoir. Popular spots at the park include the Tower Loop area near the dam and the south end of the reservoir.

To get to Cherry Creek Reservoir, take Interstate 225 to Parker Road, south on Parker Road to the east entrance off South Yosemite Street.
