I want to invite you and all your friends to climb, walk, hike, ride, or run up any hill, mountain, rock, staircase, or wall of your choice on September 22 or 23, 2007 to raise funds and awareness for children with AIDS.

Each of us can make a huge difference and can give hope and life to someone. Help the little ones and join us by registering at www.ClimbUpSoKidsCanGrowUp.com

American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA) is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status based out of USA. We improve the lives of children and youth struggling with HIV/AIDS in Kenya and Uganda by providing shipping and anti-retroviral medication to children aged birth to 19, to ensure that they live a full and healthy life. Currently, AIDS has had the most devastating effect on children in Africa, and if we do not step in to halt the progress of HIV, millions of children will needlessly continue to die. Without the anti-retroviral (ARV) medication we provide, half of the children at the hospitals we serve would die before their second birthday and 75% would not reach their fifth birthday.

With this in mind, AFCA and the American Alpine Institute will be hosting Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up, a climb-a-thon to raise both awareness and funds needed to continue our work. The funds raised will be used to send ARV medication to our partnering hospitals for delivery to the children whom we serve. We invite outdoor enthusiasts of all types to participate in our efforts to save the world?s most vulnerable children. By working together, we will reach even more children, giving them a future and hope. Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up will take place all around the world on September 22 and 23, 2007, gathering climbers of all ages and abilities to climb against pediatric AIDS.
